Welcome everybody to Delving Deeper, where we have metagame conversations about our game, talk about our characters, things that happened in session, or just ask our partners what the fuck we're thinking. Me? Rarely me. She just doesn't want to take the blame. It's not always great. So, anyways, today we are going to talk about episode one of Dissonant Whispers, and we are going to. Yeah, I'll just start with basic breakdown. Uh, at the very beginning of the episode, we have just rescued a whole bunch of people from the uh orc encampment. We are uh we sent children off to be um safe at the Mage Tower, and we have arrived back at Crystalboro where we had spent some time earlier. We want to help. We think that the orcs are going to be coming and seeking retribution for us taking all of their hostages. Um we start out uh going to what did we start out? We start out going to Captain Valera, I believe. Yeah. To try and give her information and check in with Captain Valera. We wanted to warn her that we believed that an attack was imminent.

Yes, retributive attack because we kind of fucked up Throck's camp and we took all of his prisoner.

Every once in a while I feel like I'm saying the wrong name. Um, one of the first things that we did in the episode after giving the warning to Captain Valera, we dropped my companion guy off at the manor.

He wasn't doing too hot. He was pretty uh not feeling all that great. Yeah, dropped him off at the manor so that he could uh get some healing time in because he was he was feeling poorly. A little bit, but it's okay, he got better.

He was like, you rest here for now for all eternity. Now, one of my favorite things that we did after we dropped off Guy to get better was we went shopping. Shopping's not important. We went to Madame Eldresa. Madame Eldresa. We wanted to find ourselves a fortune teller to give us some. People wanted to find a fortune teller. Others didn't want anything fucking to do with fortune tellers. No, we we wanted a fortune teller except for her because she didn't want anybody to know anything about her. Now, I am going to get uh Madame Aldressa here to state what she told each of Well first you should say who went. Oh yeah, yeah, okay, so Einar.

Drax Okay. Einar, Drax, and Oleander went to see Madame Eldressa. And uh Okay, so first thing she said was to Einar. Bloop! Yeah, oh yeah, you got your glass one.

There you go. So that is what Einar was told. Arnar Einar. At no point will I read anything out loud better. So don't mind the criticism because I would have hell been a hell of a lot worse, because I can't even talk. So that's okay. Uh so Einar has had the thought multiple times that he at some point is gonna have to give up his ink, and he doesn't like this idea. But who knows what the future will hold for him.

Well, everything within our game is always an option. Um I never have anything finite. So, you know, whatever Einar decides to do is what Einar decides to do, and that's that'll be part of it. Right? There's never like a for sure you must do this or you know the DM's gonna kill your character. It's always I always have options, right? And I like to give little digs and little pointers out there throughout the game because I don't know, it keeps it interesting. Gives you a a target to either shoot for or I'm not gonna let that happen to me, kind of thing, right? I mean most players and most characters will do great with adversity, and that's I mean, I think everybody will probably argue that's all our campaign is is adversity.

A little bit, just a little bit. Um so Einar's got his little dilemma that he's gonna have to deal with. Drax, on the other hand, was given this little ambiguity.

Yeah. And then we assume that Drax is gonna die and he's gonna have to become Mr. Drax.

Yes, they mean all sorts of randomized things. Now, Oleander uh did not actually get a prophecy. Didn't you? No, I got I got a little telling. I got I got I got this little tidbit because she couldn't actually she tried reading and she got no reading, but then she said, But I can tell you this.

Because either way, the paths that I'm following were not my own. Well, I still like the idea of their grandfather's Vecna. I really, but I really think it'd be really funny. It would be awesome. It'd be really funny. So I mean, I just either either way, no matter what it actually meant, I just find it really interesting that no matter what path I was following, it wasn't mine.

Uh the next involved thing is that Drunken actually went to seek out the Raven Queen and to pray to her. Now, it's been a long time.

Apparently I'm scary. Otherwise, that day, um, we did some shopping and we told we got scammed by a magic dealer who I hope his shop is burned down. He's an asshole. But it was really funny. It's dangling. That is where I got the friendship bracelet for Mr. Drex. That friendship bracelet has given us a lot of joy. Before we even went to Madame, Eldorissa is when Delphine did a sending to Theron to warn him about stuff. Oh yes. What now tell us what information you've gained from your sendings. So she she first let him know where she was, because the last he knew is we were in troublesome. And all of a sudden we're back in Crystalboro. And he has just left Crystalboro like a couple days before that, I think, at this point in time.

Cause by the way, this is day 36 of the first episode. It's day 36 of the campaign. And I think he left about day 33. So he's been on the road for a few days back to Silvery Moon. And Delphine let him know that we were back in Crystalboro.

She'd already let him know what we did at Brock's Encampment and blowing it all up. And was letting him know that the leadership here in Crystalboro seemed quite fractured because everyone didn't really know what the fuck they were doing.

That's when he said he was a day and a half outside of Silver and Moon, and there was an attack on the road of the other party that was being sent to meet him.

But he didn't know who the other emissary was going to be. Yeah, so that was part of the warning that you guys were trying to give Captain Valera was the fact that the emissary was waylaid by attack.

That was the first, aside from everything that was going on in Crystal Boro already that we knew about, that was sort of the first sign that there was treachery beyond Crystal Boro and that there was gonna possibly be a problem in the Silverman, but we of course did not know yet what that problem was gonna be. Yes.

He doesn't even know the rest of the world. What does that tell you about Guy? He's a man's man. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And that was it. And then the next one is Christopher. Battle of Christopher. Yeah. Now, the one thing that we forgot to do.

Yeah. Delphine loves Mr. Drax. He's the best. He is the best. And she keeps giving him a friendship bracelet. Every time he goes away, she retrieves it and then gives it back to him.
